Overview

Coda Inspire is a free, hands-on after-school program offering engaging enrichment opportunities for students eight months out of the year at two schools. The offerings at Inspire are immense: robotics, drones, music, art, digital art, and sewing. In addition, there are two distinct partnership programs within Coda Inspire: Coda Grow which focuses on horticulture and nature studies through a partnership with Honeysuckle Hill Nature Discovery Center and Coda Unplugged which offers device-free engagement in the form of bowling, board games, crafts, and creative activities. Through all these offerings, students are encouraged to explore new interests, discover their talents, and experience the joy of learning beyond the classroom.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Whether coding a robot, learning to sew, creating music, or working with plants, students gain practical, hands-on experience while developing essential life skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance. For many participants, Coda Inspire restores a love of learning — helping students believe in their own abilities and recognize that they are capable, valued, and worthy of success.

Coda Inspire also removes key barriers to participation by providing meals and transportation. These supports ensure students have consistent access to a safe, nurturing after-school environment where both their basic needs and educational and emotional growth are prioritized.

A Second Family

Students often describe Coda Inspire as a place to belong. As a result of the opioid crisis, dysfunctional home environments and poverty many come from homes that lack stability or safety. At Coda they find caring adults, supportive peers, and a community that recognizes and encourages them.

Over time, students grow in confidence, build meaningful relationships, and develop a stronger sense of identity and purpose. For these young people, Coda Inspire becomes a second family—a place to learn, grow, connect, and enjoy a healthy meal. More than enrichment, the program offers hope, restored confidence, and a lasting sense of belonging, empowering students to reach their full potential.

Get Started

Coda Inspire is open to public, private, and homeschool students in grades 3–8 and meets after school Monday through Thursday at multiple locations. At Oak Hill Middle School, Coda Inspire meets on Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. At Fayetteville PK–8, programming takes place on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5:15pm. On Mondays, Inspire programming is offered through our partnership with Pinheads Bowling Alley as Coda Unplugged, which meets at the bowling alley and provides device-free activities like bowling, games, and creative activities. Meals and transportation are provided for participating public school students, helping ensure consistent access to a safe and engaging after-school environment. (Please note that due to Fayette County Schools policy, private school and homeschool students are not permitted to ride the school bus and will need to provide their own transportation to and from program locations.)
